Frequently Asked Questions
Question: Who are the attendants?
Answer: Ben Miller is standing with Grant. Ben and Grant have been friends for seven years and Grant was his best man last September. Sandra Paredes is Amanda’s maid of honor, a close friend of Amanda’s living in Washington DC.
Question: What should I bring?
Answer: That depends on what you think you’ll want to do.
Grant’s dad and grandfather will be bringing surf poles. A few of us are bringing our bicycles. Another couple is bringing their children and beach toys. Grant and half of his friends will all have guitars of some sort with them. Amanda’s Dad will have with him a set of golf clubs and early tee-times. Amanda’s brother is bringing a surfboard.
Ask us if you are unsure, we could probably pair you up with someone else that asked the same question.
Question: Will the Internet be available?
Answer: I am told my beach house has a WAP and a broadband connection. There are other means, we are crafty, have no fear.
Question: So are you getting nerveous?
Answer: Nope. Excited. Impatient.
Question: Why the Outer Banks?
Answer: Why not? We need a vacation, you probably do too. The Outer banks are great. You’ll love it.
Question: Who is marrying you?
Answer: Our good friend Aaron. We worked with him to come up with a ceremony that we dig.
Question: What are you going to do if it rains?
Answer: Melt. Do something inside. Improvise. Don’t worry about it.
Question: It’s about time isn’t it? Ten years?
Answer: I know right?
Question: What should I wear?
Answer: You’ll be on the beach for about 15 minutes and hanging out pool-side or inside for the remainder.
Acceptable to us: Jeans, a t-shirt, maybe sandals to keep from getting splinters, if it’s nice out you may want to jump in the pool or the ocean. Dress-casual? Sure. A suit? Don’t buy one for this but if you have a favorite, sure, wear it.
Question: What’s with the fridge magnet save-the-date cards? Why did I get a picture of your cat?
Answer: Everyone is getting different pictures. You may get more than a few. We had 200 printed of various photos we’ve taken over the past few years that might or might not be of you, us, some flowers, or our cats…
When you are visiting friends you can see which one’s they got.
We’ll have copies of them all at the beach-house to check out too.
Question: What else is there in the Outer Banks?
Answer: All kinds of stuff! We’ll get to the beach house the weekend before the wedding and a number of guests are doing the same.
As people make plans, please let us know, or post them here! Other guests may want to join you on a chartered fishing trip, or on a bike ride, or out to eat, etc…
